Personal Care to Medical Care

We have all levels of care available, from light occasional personal care to ongoing or critical medical care. With a four-hour minimum, we can provide just the services you need, when you need them.

Personal Care can include light help around the house, meal preparation, assistance with bathing and dressing, reminders to take medications, and help with cleaning and laundry.

Personal Care Plus includes the services above, plus more hands-on care, assistance sitting and standing for patients that can't bear full weight themselves, monitoring blood pressure and other vital signs, improving or maintaining mobility, providing comfort and easing pain with back rubs and cold or heat therapy.

Personal Care Plus Driving provides caregivers that can drive patients for errands, appointments or events. If you rarely need someone to drive, you can arrange for a caregiver/driver with at least 48 hours notice and pay as you go. If you need driving on a regular basis, you can pay a reasonable fee per month and have unlimited local driving whenever you need it, no notice required.

All caregivers in Personal Care and Personal Care Plus are trained and certified in CPR. Driving caregivers are also provided with a cell phone for emergencies.

Medical Care provides licensed nurses, with services such as pouring and assisting with medications, wound care and dressing changes, maintaining IVs, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, colostomies, ventilators and other special needs, monitoring of ongoing conditions, and reporting to family and physicians where necessary.

Care may be needed for the short-term, during recuperation at home after surgery or illness, or as a supplement to the care that's provided by the hospital. Or perhaps a loved one needs a bit of assistance with normal daily living tasks, a few times a week or every day. If those needs change over time, MediNurse can adjust your care to fit your needs, growing from personal care to medical care, or from occasional to everyday, roung the clock care. Unlike some agencies that only offer companions and assistants, if your needs grow to require a nurse, we'll still be there with you.

Cost

No matter what level of services you need, we’ll work with you and your family, and your existing care providers to make sure you have as much or as little coverage as you require, and we’ll strive to make that coverage afforadable.

Costs will vary according to the level of service required by your individual situation. For most of our services, there is a four hour minimum. There are also a variety of services designed to meet one-time or occasional needs. Fees are usually hourly, based on a contracted term of service agreed upon before care begins. Regardless of the type of care you choose, if your needs change, you will be informed of any change in cost or terms of service.

Personal Care and Medical Care can enable patients to leave the hospital sooner and receive care in warm, familiar surroundings at home, or get supplemental care that eases the transition from hospital to full independence at home. Many individuals can maintain a measure of independence with the help of a MediNurse caregiver, allowing them to stay in their homes longer, postponing or elminating the need for a facility. Family caregivers may provide the majority of care, but need a well-deserved break without worrying about the care they're getting. No matter what the situation, we'll work with you, your family and doctors to find affordable, cost-effective care. MediNurse assumes full responsibility for the caregiver's payroll taxes, social security and workers compensation.

For holidays or anytime, we have gift certificates for personal care. For just $50, you'll get three hours of personal care services. Your loved one can redeem the certificate to get some light assistance in the home with cleaning or laundry, light meal preparation, companionship at home, on appointments or for events. If you have a wedding or special event coming up, let a MediNurse companion stay at your loved one's side, making sure he or she is comfortable and safe.
